HubSpot has thousands of employees all over the world. We make it easy for them to collaborate and stay productive with best-in-class tools, tech, and support
As our platforms and products become more complex, we find ways to remove complexity for users. Simplicity isn't always easy, but we like a challenge.
We partner with our product teams, using research, content, and design, to create a delightful, human experience for our internal and external users.
Okay, not really. But we do need to plan for future growth and come up with data-driven strategies and systems that our business can depend on long-term.
We aren't just HubSpotters. We're stand-up comedians. We're parents. We're dangerously good on the dance floor. We're a team all over the globe (remotely, and in our Cambridge and Dublin offices), made up of different perspectives and experiences — and it helps us think differently about the problems we're solving together.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
Both of my parents were born in Cape Verde on the island of Fogo and I am one of the first generations in my family to graduate from college.
What team within Business Technology are you on, and what do you work on?
I work on the Employee Experience team within Business Technology focusing on Collaboration. Our job is to build and support collaborative solutions that inspire HubSpotters to do their best work. Some things we are responsible for are content management, conference rooms, event and training spaces, and live events.
When people ask you what it's like to work on HubSpot's Business Technology team, how do you describe it?
Working on the Business Technology team has been a great experience. We have great leaders from the top down who lead by example, have a passion for the overall company mission, and communicate effectively. There is also a strong culture of recognition and appreciation. As a rapidly expanding team there is a lot of opportunity for growth.
What's something you've worked on at HubSpot that you're proud of?
For the past two years I have been lucky to work with the INBOUND Studio team during our annual INBOUND event. As a live stream technician I’ve had the pleasure of broadcasting interviews with some very interesting people. Last year I got to meet Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Troy Carter, and Lena Waithe.
Anything else you want to add that candidates may want to know?
When it comes to HubSpot, believe the hype.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I trained as a photographer before finding my way into the AV industry.
What work option did you pick and why?
I picked the flex work option to better align with my work-life balance. I live about an hour away from the Dublin office and love to come in and socialise with my teammates when we all plan to be in. On days I have a lot of meetings across multiple time zones, I found taking them from home was way more productive and better use of time for me.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I work with the Collaboration Team and our primary role is to help our users collaborate better with their globally dispersed teams. I recently transitioned from being an AV Engineer to a Product Manager for Workspace technologies within the Collaboration Team. We look after tools such as Zoom, Office Space, Neat, Envoy, and XY Sense. An average day for me consists of gathering and compiling feedback from our users on these tools and bubbling that up to our technical team and CSMs. This best enables us to enhance these solutions for HubSpot's unique user needs. I also prioritise our sprint tasks and help align expectations across all the teams we work closely with to keep us on track for specific initiatives and projects.
What's one thing you love about your local office?
The Dublin office food and banter is the best in the world in my opinion! I also love bumping into people from other teams that I haven't met in a while and having a catch-up.
How does HubSpot's culture help you to do your best work?
HubSpot's culture is one of many reasons why I work here. It allows people to be their true selves and feel empowered to bring that to work every day.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I would have loved to be a Private investigator
What work option did you pick and why?
I chose the home option, it works for me since it provides the flexibility I need to get my daughter ready for school in the morning and not having to commute. Granted, there is not a HubSpot office in my location, but even if there was one I would have still chosen home.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm on the Employee Tech team. My day consists of providing support for the different applications the recruiting team uses (Greenhouse, Goodtime, LinkedIn, etc. ) as well as the onboarding team (Monday, Workato, etc.). I work on BAU requests as well as new project initiatives.
How does HubSpot's culture help you to do your best work?
The flexibility offered is unmatched, I'm able to balance work and life activities, especially having a young daughter. I have been able to be part of her morning routine to get ready for school and get her from the bus, which was not possible for me in my prior job. This motivates me to do my best at work!
