HubSpotters often say the number one reason they like working at HubSpot is how much they learn from the people they're surrounded by. HubSpot is bustling with people at the top of their game - the opportunities to learn, grow, collaborate, and build are endless.
Whether we’re indulging in ice cream on the first day of summer, having pizza on a Thursday, or dialing into virtual mix and mingles, there’s always a reason to enjoy time with your colleagues worldwide. We organize a variety of in-person and virtual events so you never feel too far from meaningful connections with fellow HubSpotters. There's never a shortage of Instagrammable moments.
What work option did you choose and why?
I love working in offices but right now @home is what works for me. I was able to get a job that my location would have otherwise excluded me from, and being at home gives my tween kids a lot more freedom - they don't usually need me, but I'm here when they do!
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm on the Flywheel Delight Product group. I look after the engineers who build the products that our reps use every day. I split my time three ways. First up is with my Product Manager and Design Manager counterparts - we work together to ensure the group is heading in the right direction and has everything they need. I then check in with my engineers, especially my engineering and tech leads; they look after the technical delivery and engineers, and my job is to ensure they are supported in that. Sometimes that means brainstorming ideas together, coaching them, or unblocking them (especially if there are cross-team dependencies). I'll always try to reserve some time to deep-dive into the code or spend some extra time with one of my teams, especially if they're working on a high-pressure or difficult delivery.
What's one thing you love about the office?
I get to spend all day with my two lovely cats. They know to leave me alone when I'm focusing on things but will often come and say hi during meetings because they know there's a reasonable chance of getting a cuddle then.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
There are such a great variety of inspirational women leaders in HubSpot! Diversity, inclusion and belonging isn't just a set of "women in HubSpot" channels, but a chance for me to connect with and learn from a really diverse set of leadership styles.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I like gardening but only have a balcony where I live, and frequently forget to water things. So I have a small but ever-growing collection of cacti. They sell them really cheap at the supermarket and it's really hard to stop picking up new ones on a regular basis.
What work option did you choose and why?
I chose the @flex option as I love to have the opportunity to meet up with people in an office while also working from home some days. Especially when being new to a company, I think it's great to learn from colleagues and be able to ask your neighbor a quick question without having to send them a Slack message.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm on the Solution Engineering team so I work together with our Sales Teams and prepare demos to wow our prospects or support answering any technical questions that they might have. Usually, my average day consists of having different customer meetings, internal alignments, and preparation time for the presentations.
What's one thing you love about the office?
I really appreciate the real-life connections and the lunches or after-work together with the team in the office. We are a small but growing team at the Madrid office so everyone knows each other and it feels really easy to join the group as everyone is very open and really nice!
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
I love the empathic and trusting culture at HubSpot. Everyone is always available for a quick chat or to answer any questions. I'm amazed at the way people support others and create such a great environment to work in.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
In my last company I received the title of "Palm Tree Officer" because I used to help people not to stress that much and keep their cool.
What work option did you choose and why?
@remote because I wasn't sure how many people would come into the office but I'll be changing to @flex/@office as we're starting to build quite the audience that are recurrently coming into the office.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
Solutions Engineering. An average day has some syncs/catch-ups with colleagues in sales about deals we're working on together as well as other Solutions Engineers and Architects to discuss possible technical solutions for challenges we're facing in deals. We also have multiple calls with prospects or partners to present the value of HubSpot for their given use cases. I also set time to study and learn about some new product features or solutions to help our customers.
What's one thing you love about the office?
We have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to start building the culture we want in the office, taking some of the best pages from the HubSpot Culture Code and bringing them to the local culture in Madrid.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
It lets me my true self when engaging with colleagues, customers, and partners as humbleness and empathy are celebrated as key traits of HubSpot employees.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I speak fluent Dutch.
