HubSpotters often say the number one reason they like working at HubSpot is how much they learn from the people they're surrounded by. HubSpot is bustling with people at the top of their game - the opportunities to learn, grow, collaborate, and build are endless.
Whether we’re going out for ice cream on the first day of summer, having pizza on a Thursday, or dialing into virtual mix and mingles, there’s always a reason to enjoy time with your colleagues worldwide. We organize a variety of in-person and virtual events so you never feel too far from meaningful connections with fellow HubSpotters whether cheersing virtually with your drink of choice or aah-ing after work at our office. There's never a shortage of Instagrammable moments.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I can fall asleep anywhere, anytime, as long as I’m warm. I promise not on the job though.!
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I am on the Inbound Success Coach (ISC) team in JAPAC and a typical day for me ranges from speaking with global prospects on our inbound channel, mentoring new hires as they prepare to join our team, and working closely with our Product/Partner Specialists to solve for our customers. HubSpot is continuously evolving, adapting, and growing to help businesses scale so a portion of my day is also dedicated to keeping up with the changes to our products and processes, then curating global-friendly content to share with the wider ISC organization.
What's one thing you love about working for HubSpot in Australia?
The culture for sure - I love and appreciate how relaxed our Sydney office is. There’s a lot of inter-team mingling and opportunities to network beyond your role so it’s very welcoming and genuinely so easy to talk to anyone.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
I opted to be a @flex employee (choose to work from home and in the office) and the name says it all really. It’s super flexible - I can plan my week to maximize productivity at work but also in my personal life outside of work hours. I also truly appreciate collaborating with my colleagues from other teams and being able to work closely with them when I’m in the office but also building on my relationship with our global counterparts too.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I was a professional classical musician and full-time member of the National Radio Orchestra of Ireland for almost 7 years.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm a Sales Engineer aka a technical member of the sales team. I normally start my day at 9am and I spend most of the morning supporting sales reps on web- and in-person meetings answering prospects' technical questions and walking them through integration scenarios, all of this with the end goal to enable good-fit prospects to purchase our software platform. After lunch, my role changes quite dramatically: my time is largely reserved for managerial activities such as various meetings, working on reports, projects and slide decks and 1:1s with my team and other internal stakeholders - all of this interrupted by the daily game(s) of ping pong. One of my favorite things about being a sales engineer is that I'm in charge of my own calendar.
What's one thing you love about the Sydney office?
It's a relatively small office and it's still possible to have a personal relationship with everybody.
What's your favorite place in the office and why?
The view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge from Level 15 always reminds me of how lucky I am to be in Sydney and in Australia.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
I love the flexibility. It allows me to work from home on a regular basis and to join important events in my kids' life without neglecting work.
Anything else you want to add that candidates may want to know?
I started my HubSpot career as a support specialist in Dublin. At the time, there was no other office apart from Cambridge and HubSpot was a private company.
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I have an 18-year-old Maltese x Bichon Frise called Klavier.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I'm a Growth Specialist for the Small Business Segment in ANZ. My day-to-day includes speaking with businesses that are scaling and looking to consolidate their systems into one. From there, I can help these businesses map out an evaluation plan to make sure we derisk the project and it also makes commercial sense.
What's your favorite thing about working for HubSpot in Australia?
I moved to Sydney for HubSpot four years ago before the pandemic. The number of friends, role models and mentors I've been able to develop a genuine connection with is a big reason I'm still at HubSpot all these years later.
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
Everyone's career has ups and downs, but I wouldn't have been able to work to the best of my abilities and hit many professional goals if it wasn't for the people who have been so willing to share and teach me skills along my journey. As our Co-Founder, Dharmesh Shah says "Success is making the people who believed in you look brilliant".
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
My home is Sydney but I've been working remotely all around the East Coast working from AirBnb's & surfing for the last 2 years. I also used to compete professionally in mixed martial arts.
What team are you on and what does an average day look like?
I am on the Mid Market team. An average day is a mixture between running exploration calls with companies & learning about their processes to see if we can help, progressing sales opportunities, working closely with the business development team to prospect accounts together, plus a few internal meetings here and there, plus a little bit of learning.
What's one thing you love about working for HubSpot in Australia?
I love the people
How does HubSpot's culture help you do your best work?
I love the flexibility of HubSpot and how its outcome-based, allowing me to work remotely and do my job with autonomy in my role. I really enjoy the benefits we get such as tuition reimbursement, and as a result, I've been able to expense coaching and courses over the years to help grow my career and also other areas. I also really appreciate the open feedback environment.
